It's been so long...

I don't know if anyone missed me but I sure missed blogging. The reality is that I missed the creating and crafting that go before the blogging.

This time of year is really busy for me. I'm involved with American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. It's a wonderful event and one that is close to my heart as cancer has touched so many in my family. Our citywide event is June 18/19. The color of this event just so happens to be my favorite color, which is purple.

Tomorrow, we are hosting a "Food Trucks for a Cure" event to raise money and spread the word. We are also encouraging people to "Paint their house/neighborhood purple". Part of that is what is shown in these pictures.

These are my homemade yard signs. I was able to use my favorite medium...spray paint. :) I used 4 cans of Rustoleum's Grape in Gloss and when that ran out, I finished up the last few with Rustoleum's Lilac also in gloss. As you can see in the small box, there are crayons, markers and colored pencils. These will be used to decorate Luminaria bags.

Here is a close up of the yard signs. Many thanks to Home Depot for the donation of the paint sticks. For more information on the Relay for Life and to find out what Luminaria bags are, please go to http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=31801&pg=entry or to see my page (and help me reach my goal), click here:

  1. Oh, so that's what they are. Thought it was something you carry.
